Best Sustainable Event Venues in London

Sustainability is now a priority for event planners. Taking steps towards caring for the planet and its resources has become a responsibility that all industries must undertake, and to remain active as a professional within the industry you need to know, not only how to make your event sustainable, but who your best allies are.

If you’re planning your next event in London, here are our favourite venues that advocate for sustainability through eco-friendly practices that keep them trendy and clean.

This airy exhibition space boasts some splendid artwork from a prestigious collection within its wide-open spaces, high ceilings and quirky interior. They have wheelchair access and an induction loop, and offer free Wi-Fi and a VA system upon request. It can hold up to 160 people, which makes it perfect for drinks receptions, book launches or networking events.

It’s just a stone’s throw from Regent’s Park and it’s close to public transport, making it a perfect candidate for a sustainable event looking to minimise distances and promote the use of the underground.

This venue has scandi-inspired interiors, with minimalistic design and polished concrete floors making it the perfect backdrop for any event. Clean lines, radiant light and airy atmosphere come together to offer a versatile space that adapts to whatever your heart desires.

Their in-house restaurant has a new guest chef every week! They are very eco-friendly so in an effort to reduce food wastage, they always ask that their restaurant guests book in advance.

This private dining room set in the cultural heart of London, boasts sleek wooden floors, a marble bar and big arched windows that let light pour in. Its delicate decorations and modern furnishings make it perfect for cocktails, receptions or private dinners for up to 150 people.

Its kitchen is completely produce-oriented, serving wholesome, seasonal ingredients. But this isn’t their only sustainable selling point. They are pioneers in reducing food waste in the restaurant, and the presence of single-use plastic in the restaurant. They are definitely pioneering in sustainability within the industry and we love it!

Quirky yet sophisticated

This flexible space housed just inside the main doors of an art gallery is perfect for dinners and receptions. Aside from its unique lighting, the real eye-catcher is the metal prizewinning statue that hangs upside down from the ceiling at the entrance to the building. It fits 390 people in a reception setting or 90 people sitting for dinner. It offers a VA system if needed, parking and a top-quality catering service.

We love it as a sustainable venue not only because it’s close to three underground stations, but also because of its proximity to some wonderful hotels nearby, delicious restaurants and bars, and other major attractions in the area.

Built overlooking the Royal Victoria Docks, this large conference centre was built with modern technology seeking to reduce its impact on the environment. Its walls are made of glass, letting in as much daylight as possible and drastically reducing the use of energy.

This venue is perfect for hosting large events of up to 500 people, with state-of-the-art AV equipment, sound and lighting. Its restaurant serves seasonal, organic and free-range ingredients that are all locally sourced. All left-overs are turned into compost for their community garden.
