NEWS: Visit.brussels launches €2M fund for institutions and companies organising upcoming events in Brussels.

Event organisers and Brussels-based venues, here’s some good news for you during these strange times! Tourism organisation visit.brussels just announced a €2M fund to stimulate national and international event organisers to host their upcoming events in Brussels.

The Brussels’ MICE industry is a blooming industry, ranked first in Europe and second for congresses worldwide. Unfortunately, nowadays, local venues are severely suffering form the negative impact the COVID-19 pandemic has on their operations. To boost the sector and support its actors, Rudi Vervoort, minister-president of the Brussels-Capital Region, developed the above-mentioned support fund.

Until September 2020, authorities in the Belgian capital have opened a call for projects, directly aimed at national and international institutions, private companies, event agencies, NGOs and public interest foundations. The support takes the form of a subsidy available for the rental payment of Brussels-based event venues. For every eligible event, up to €50,000 ($58,000) can be granted.
